About MSOE

A Higher Standard
At MSOE, you will find a vibrant and caring community of students and faculty. Together, we are committed to fostering a higher standard of academic programming. A higher standard of research. A higher standard of personalized service, instruction and guidance.

Since our founding more than 100 years ago, our top priority has been to value individuals for the skills, talents and interests they bring to our community.

Our Students
MSOE students are bright, creative, hard-working and fun to be around. Ours is a close-knit community of 2,500 students. Whether it’s involvement in academic pursuits, internship opportunities or taking advantage of social activities on campus, MSOE students are interested in real-world experience.

Our Faculty
Our faculty are passionate about teaching, and here, that is their main focus. Many come to the university with varied experiences working in industry, and use their practical knowledge to inform their teaching and benefit our students. Small class sizes (an average of 20 students per class, 11 students per lab) keep instructors in close contact with students. Additionally, many volunteer as mentors to first-year students in order to enrich student learning and strengthen student-faculty relationships.

MSOE does not use teaching assistants.
