M.S. in Environmental Engineering

In today's industrial world, environmental issues permeate and affect virtually every technical and business decision. Practicing engineers in a variety of positions - manufacturing, design, research and development, management and plant engineering - need a firm grounding in the various aspects of environmental engineering in order to perform effectively on the job.

The Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEV) program is designed to provide expertise in environmental systems and environmental management issues. It is tailored to the student who already has a bachelor of science degree in a traditional engineering discipline. Topics in areas such as environmental law, pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management, water and wastewater treatment, plant safety and OSHA issues, environmental risk assessment, soil and ground water remediation are presented.

This program is also designed as a five-year, two-degree program.

Environmental Symposia Series

MSOE sponsors a series of three symposia each year featuring contemporary environmental topics and issues. Online registration is available for attendees. Topics for the 2009-2010 academic year are:

• Food Safety and Security, Beneficial Reuse of Food Waste, and Urban Agriculture - Oct. 14, 2009 (register online to attend)
