Freshman Software Engineers Dive In

In the winter quarter of the freshman year, the SE students are enrolled in "Software Development -II" (SE-1020) where they are working towards developing their own "Media Player." 

  Here is what some of the students had to say about the class halfway through the quarter, when asked "What most surprised you about the class?" 

• "That we were venturing into creating a media player. I never thought this class would become this advanced this quickly."
• "How advanced we already are and how everything is coming together. This is fun!!"
• "When stuff falls into place. That is most rewarding, to my surprise. It is even more beneficial to figure it out on my own rather than asking for help."
• "How everything I have learned until now can come together and create good results."

I have also included some pictures from the various SE events held at MSOE throughout the year. These events give the students a break from work and a chance to network and have some fun.
