Software Engineering class of 2008

It is hard to believe that the entire month of May has gone by and I did not get a chance to write anything. May is a busy month here at MSOE. It is not only the final exams, the final projects and other year-end activities that keep everybody busy but it is also the season for graduations, farewells and retirements.

The Software Engineering graduating class of 2008 showcased their final design project on Friday (May 23) and walked across the stage on Saturday (May 24) at the graduation ceremony. You can read about some of the senior design projects in two articles available at MSOE's Web site titled "Seniors Show Their Designs for the Future" and "Local Media Takes Note of Senior Projects"

 

 

Some of the highlights of our graduating class are:

• This is the seventh graduating Software Engineering class. The Software Engineering program at MSOE was started in 1999 and had its first graduates in 2002.
• With the graduating class of 2008, the SE program has approximately 150 ambassadors of the program that are working all over the US.
• The placement of our graduates as always has been great this year, with salaries ranging from $48,000-$63,000 The exact numbers, including the average and median salaries, will be available in October/November timeframe when the placement office will tabulate and release the results for all programs.

 

As we say farewells to our graduates and wish them all the best for their bright future, we also spend the month of May getting ready for incoming freshman class. We have another great freshman class ready to start MSOE in Fall 2008. They will be on campus on June 2 and June 12 for registration. We will see several of you then !

Wow! No wonder May was so hectic!
