The software engineering curriculum at MSOE has been created on sound principles of software "process" (how software is developed) and "practice" (what is being developed). The curriculum is not only relevant and innovative, but also provides various opportunities for you to customize it according to your interests.

Some of the important aspects of the SE curriculum are:

• A well balanced curriculum track.
• The Software Development Laboratory where you get a chance to be a part of a team working on large-scale, industry-sponsored projects, just like you will on the job.
• An opportunity to take a sequence of three related, specialized courses (called application domain electives). Currently, computer gaming, networking and commercial applications are popular choices.
• Senior Design Project which brings everything that you have studied together in your senior year.
