MSOE baseball splits with Lakeland

The Raiders belted out 16 hits against Lakeland in the first game of a doubleheader as MSOE beat the Muskies 7-6 Sunday at Henry Aaron Field. Sophomore Walter Ziller and freshman Maxwell Poeske both had run-scoring singles in the bottom of the ninth as the Raiders came back to win. Ziller and Wes Stasik each had three hits while freshman Derek Jordan had two RBI. Sophomore Mike Bergstrom pitched two innings in relief to earn the win.
In game 2, MSOE fell to Lakeland 8-5 despite five strong innings from freshman starting pitcher Adam Vlaj who gave up one run and struck out four. Freshman Alex Luna was 3-4 while senior Emery Hull had two doubles and two RBI.
The Raiders host Lawrence Wednesday in a non-conference game at Henry Aaron Field.
