Men's tennis finishes second at NAC Championship
Jackson, Wis.-Winning four of seven possible individual conference titles was not enough to move regular season third place finisher MSOE Raiders into first place at the Northern Athletic Conference men's tennis championships today, held at Pleasant Valley Tennis Club in Jackson, Wisconsin. MSOE placed second at the championship, behind conference champion Concordia-Wisconsin, who won their second consecutive NAC title. Concordia won three of the nine individual championships, and additionally placed second in three, posting a team score of 51 points. MSOE tallied 45 team points, winning four individual championships at the two-day event. Marian College rounded out the top three teams with 42 points for a third place finish.

Individually for the Raiders, MSOE won at number three, four, six singles and number two doubles at the championship. James Kuitil (Oak Park, Ill. / OPRF High School) was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Justin Weber of Concordia-Wisconsin at number three singles, while freshman Dustin Holzhuer (Milwaukee, Wis. / Thomas More) defeated Zlatin Hadzic of Dominican 6-4, 6-0 in the number four singles championship. Grant Lees (Wind Lake, Wis. / Muskego) won 6-0, 6-0 over Lono Brazil of Concordia -Chicago on his way to the number six singles title. In the championship battle in the number two doubles division, Holzhauer/Mark Schadler (Walton, Ky. / Simon Kenton) won 8-2 over Tyler Leinweber/John Thompson of Marian College.
