Wrestling places second at Chuck Porter Duals

The MSOE men's wrestling team finished in second place at the Chuck Porter Duals, hosted by Knox College. The Raiders finished the meet 3-1 behind North Central College, who finished the day with a perfect 4-0 record.
The Raiders defeated Iowa conference power Central 26-24 and CCIW stalwart Wheaton 24-21, early in the meet. MSOE then scored a 41-11 victory over Hannibal LaGrange before losing in the final round to regional power North Central 36-6.
Individually for the Raiders, Sam and Dominic Deligio finished the day with 4-0 records, while Matt Olsen was 3-1 in competition. Olsen had two key landslide victories on the day. Wrestling at 185, he was credited with a fall over Ben Davis of Central, 4:45 into his first match of the day. When the Raiders faced Wheaton in the second round of the day, he moved up to the 195 weight class and earned a 12-1 major decision over Matt Griffiths. Both outcomes clinched victories for MSOE and inevitably, their second place finish.
