Iverson pitches two-one hit winners

Milwaukee—Freshman pitcher Jessica Iverson pitched not one, but two one-hitters in MSOE’s doubleheader sweep of Mount Mary on Tuesday afternoon at the MSOE athletic Field.

In game one, Mount Mary singled off Iverson on the first batter, and then scored off a hit to the shortstop. That was the only run Mount Mary’s Blue angels would see as Iverson struck out seven, facing only 16 batters, walking none in the Raiders 30-1 victory. The Raiders had 19 hits on 32 at bats in game one. Brittany Remington went a perfect 3-for-3 with 7 runs batted in, while MSOE teammate Elise Pinkerton had 5 RBIs on 3-for-4 hitting.

Game two was more of the same for Iverson, except her only hit came in the top of the 5th inning, after striking out five batters earlier in the game. After Natasha Ntekop scored in the 5th off a series of errors, Iverson fans the next three batters securing the 17-1 5 inning victory. Iverson was perfect at the plate; going 3-for-3 with 4 RBI’s in the game.

MSOE host Alverno College in their final home game of the season, Wednesday, April 29. The first pitch will be at 4pm.
