Ott Named Assistant Athletic Director

Dan Harris, MSOE Director of Athletics recently announced the promotion of Jessica Ott to Assistant Athletic Director. Ott, head women's basketball and softball coach, also has served the University as Senior Woman Administrator for the past seven years.
In 2009, Coach Ott was named the Northern Athletics Conference women's basketball coach of the year, leading the Raiders to the most improved record among NCAA Division III basketball programs. Ott completed the National Association of Woman Athletic Administrators Institute of Administrative Advancement course during the summer of 2008.
As an MSOE administrator, her responsibilities include operation of the athletic equipment room, which entails the ordering and receiving of inventory and issuing and supplying over 400 student-athletes. She is the advisor to the MSOE student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and advises coaches on recruiting and retention. Ott organizes the department's annual sports clinic as a celebration of National Women's and Girls in Sports Day. Ott also advises and counsels all female student-athletes, as well as representing MSOE on the Senior Woman Advisory Committee for the Northern Athletics Conference.
Ott received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 2000. While playing for the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team from 1996-2000, Ott earned several athletic awards, including a three-time WIAC All-Conference First Team selection, DIII News Honorable Mention All-American, UWSP Female Athlete of the Year, UWSP team captain, and she remains the UWSP third all-time leading scorer with 1,592 points. In the 2000-2001 season, a native of New Glarus, was a high school varsity and junior varsity assistant for Division I state runner-up Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH).
