Men's Soccer Alumni wins Fourth Annual Doring Cup

The MSOE Raider's men's soccer team had a 2-0 advantage into the second half before the MSOE Alumni scored four unanswered goals to win the fourth annual Doring Cup by the score of 4-to-2. The Alumni were led by Chris Boardman, scoring two goals, while Spencer Cook and Nick Hamill had one goal apiece. Captain Doring valiantly gave his life for his country in Anbar Province, Iraq on May 27, 2006. He was an AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter pilot with the third Marine Division. At, MSOE (EE ‘98) Nate was a four-year Dean's List student graduating with honors, and was prominent in athletics serving as captain of the varsity soccer team in 1995.

The alumni last won the annual game in 2005, the year before the cup was named. The Raiders open their season on Tuesday, September 1 at Uihlein field, taking on Ripon College. The game will start at 5:30pm.
