Men's Basketball clinches NAC first round home playoff game

Milwaukee -- The MSOE Men's Basketball team got two double-doubles as they defeated the Dominican University Stars 58-45 at the Kern Center Tuesday night. Senior center Jeremy Off scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while junior forward Austin Meier put in 13 points and had 11 rebounds. The victory clinches the second spot in the Northern Athletics Conference South Division for the Raiders and a first round playoff game at home.
Junior guard Bennett Deacon was also in double figures for MSOE as he scored 12 points. Deacon also doled out four assists and committed zero turnovers. The Raiders held Dominican to just 32% shooting from the field while out rebounding the Stars by 14.
MSOE never trailed in the game as they got out to a 14-2 lead to start the contest. Dominican pulled within one early in the second half but never took the lead. The Raiders went on an 11-1 run over the next three minutes of action to take control of the game.
MSOE is back in action Saturday evening in Madison as they face the Edgewood College Eagles at 6 p.m. in the NAC North/South Challenge which will determine seeding for the NAC Tournament. The Raiders will host a quarterfinal game of the NAC Tournament Tuesday night at the Kern Center. The opponent for that game is TBD.
