Men's Basketball advances to NAC semifinals

Milwaukee -- In the quarterfinals of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament, the MSOE Men's Basketball team knocked off Rockford College 68-63 Tuesday night. Senior center Jeremy Off scored a season-high 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the victory. Off also hit the 1,000 point mark for his career during the contest. He scored 16 of his points in the second half and grabbed eight rebounds in the final 20 minutes of action.

A day after being named an Academic All-American by ESPN the Magazine, junior forward Austin Meier put up a double-double as well with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Meier also had six steals and three blocks against the Regents. Junior guard Bennett Deacon also scored 14 points for the Raiders.

It was a back and forth affair at the Kern Center all night and included 13 ties. MSOE went on a 6-0 run to end the game with 1:13 left in the contest. The biggest lead of the game was six points which each team had at one point Tuesday night.

The Raiders will now face Aurora University in the semifinals of the NAC Tournament Thursday night in Illinois. That game will tip off at 7 p.m. The winner will host the championship game Saturday afternoon against either Concordia University Chicago or Dominican University.
