Men's Indoor Track & Field places 2nd, Women's team 5th at NAC Championships

Men's Indoor Track & Field places 2nd, Women's team 5th at NAC Championships
Kenosha, Wis. -- Behind solid performance from many athletes, the MSOE Men's Indoor Track & Field team finished second at the Northern Athletics Conference Championships. The Women's Indoor Track & Field squad placed fifth on Saturday.

Sophomore Emily Dieringer won two events, the 55 meter dash and the 55 meter hurdles. Dieringer also finished third in the 200 meter dash and pole vault. Sophomore Amanda Heller placed second in both the 5000 meter run and the 3000 meter run.

MSOE's 4X40 meter relay team comprised of freshman Jordan Werner, freshman James Franke, freshman Chris Neja and sophomore Tom Monteverde placed first. Werner also won the 400 meter dash and finished third in the 200 meter dash. Another top finisher for the Raiders was junior Kevin Diederich who won the 55 meter hurdles race and was third in long jump.

Senior Zak Lutz was solid in both the 5000 meter run and the 3000 meter run where he finished third in both. Junior Matt Jungers was fifth in the 5000 meter run. The Men's Distance Medley finished in second place and the Women's Distance Medley was fourth.

Junior Michael Jasperson came in second in the weight throw and sophomore Arthur Weborg finished third in the triple jump. Freshman Alex Schroeder came home third in the 800 meter run and freshman Ben Peterson placed fourth in the one mile run. Sophomore Mark Van Alstyne finished fourth in the 400 meter dash and sophomore Joe Klimowicz was fifth in the high jump.

Other high finishers for the Men's team include senior Ryan Baird who finished sixth in the pole vault, junior Brent Verhyen was sixth in the shot put and junior Nate Harwell placed sixth in the 55 meter dash.

On the Women's side, freshman Karly Nehls placed sixth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump. Freshman Anete Zagare finished fourth in the one mile run and freshman Katelyn Herrmann was fifth in the 3000 meter run. Sophomore Tanzania Sewell came in eighth in the 800 meter run.
