Men's Track finishes 1st at Warrior Relays, Women's Team 3rd

Milwaukee, Wis. -- The Raiders competed in the Warrior Relays hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday in Milwaukee. The Men's squad came home first and the Women's team finished third.
Freshman Jordan Werner won the 400 meter dash while sophomore Mark Van Alstyne was third in that event. Junior Keen Unangst and freshman Jake Schneider were first and second in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Sophomore Todd Krupa finished first in the pole vault. Junior Michael Jasperson won the hammer throw event. The Raiders finished in the 4X400 meter relay event. MSOE's 800 sprint medley team came in second place. Junior Nate Harwell finished third in the 100 meter dash and third in the long jump. Freshman Chris Neja was second in the 200 meter dash. Freshman Ben Peterson finished fourth in the 800 meter run.
Sophomore Amanda Heller won the 5000 meter run and the 3000 meter steeplechase. Sophomore Marquerite Wellstein finished first in the javelin throw, second in the discus throw and third in the shot put. Freshman Katelyn Herrmann was second in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Sophomore Emily Dieringer finished second in the pole vault, 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the 100 meter hurdles. Freshman Anete Zagare finished fourth in the 800 meter run. Sophomore Carol Cayo was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles and sixth in the high jump and long jump. Freshman Kathleen Keough finished sixth in the high jump and fifth in the pole vault. Sophomore Krista Bavlnka was fifth in the hammer throw and javelin throw.
Freshman Alex Schroeder was fourth in the 5000 meter run. Junior Matt Jungers finished second in the 10,000 meter run. Junior Eric Hein was second in the 110 meter hurdles. Freshman James Franke came home second in the 400 meter hurdles while sophomore Tom Monteverde was fourth and Hein fifth in that event. Sophomore Joe Klimowiczs finished second in the high jump. Junior Kevin Diederich was second in the long jump, shot put and the javelin throw. Junior Brent Verhyen finished second in both the discus throw and the hammer throw and fourth in the javelin throw.
MSOE continues their season this Saturday at the Marquette Twilight event this Saturday in Milwaukee.
