Baseball sweeps Dominican

Milwaukee, Wis. -- The MSOE Baseball team used solid hitting and pitching to pull off a doubleheader sweep over Dominican Sunday afternoon. In the first game, the Raiders (12-25, 7-13 NAC) beat the Stars 12-7. Senior Michael Merk led the offense from the top spot in the batting order as he went 4-5 with two runs and two doubles. Junior Emery Hull also had two doubles and scored three runs. Senior Pete Winberg logged three hits and two runs. Jake Lathers pitched eight innings to earn the win. Seniors Michael Brunette and Blake Schoh and freshman Justin Quinn also had two hits for MSOE.

In the second game, the Raiders shut out Dominican 10-0 behind five scoreless innings by freshman Sam Matthies who picked up the victory. Merk and Hull each had three hits while Merk hit a triple and scored three runs and Hull had four RBI and two doubles. 

The Raiders finish the season Sunday, May 9 against Concordia-Chicago at home. The doubleheader starts at 1:00 p.m.
