MSOE women's tennis splits matches on opening weekend

The MSOE women's tennis team swept Rockford 9-0 in their first match of the season Saturday in Milwaukee. Juniors Carol Cayo, Samantha Pekarscik, Julie Burg and Marguerite Wellstein, sophomore Courtney Grant and senior Ashley Blise all won in singles competition. Cayo, Grant, Pekarscik, Burg, Wellstein and freshman Ashley Albrecht were victorious in doubles.
The Raiders fell to Edgewood 9-0 Sunday to end the weekend 1-1. MSOE faces Alverno at McKinley Park Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.
