The Raiders controlled the tempo from the beginning of the game to the very end, scoring six goals and running away with their first win of the season against Ripon Tuesday night. MSOE was led by senior Colleen Krechel and freshman Paula Bohl who each scored two goals.
Freshman Jenna Harvestine scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick from junior Jamie Janczak at the 23 minute mark. Just two minutes later Janczak gave the ball up to Bohl to help the Raiders to a 2-0 lead. Krechel scored her first of two goals with 6:33 left in the first half.
The second half was more of the same for the Raiders with Bohl scoring on another Janczak pass to take the lead to 4-0. With just over ten minutes remaining, freshman Allison Zimont added a goal followed by Krechel's second score of the game with five minutes left in the game.
The Raiders return to action Thursday traveling to Lake Forest, Ill. to face the Foresters of Lake Forest College. The game is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
