MSOE women's tennis finishes regular season with victory over Lakeland 8-1

The Raiders finished their regular season on a high note by defeating Lakeland 8-1 Tuesday afternoon at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wis. Junior Samantha Pekarscik logged two victories including a win at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2. Pekarscik and junior Julie Burg combined to win at No. 2 doubles 8-1. Burg won at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Courtney Grant also won twice as she recorded a victory at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0. Grant and junior Carol Cayo logged a victory at No. 1 singles 9-8.
Junior Marguerite Wellstein and senior Ashley Blise won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Sophomore Heather Miller and freshman Ashley Albrecht picked up a victory at No. 3 doubles 8-3.
MSOE (3-8, 3-8 NAC) will play in the NAC Championship starting Saturday in Madison, Wis. This event will determine the NAC individual champions.
