MSOE men's soccer gets past Benedictine in NAC first round

The Raiders got goals from senior Joe Westrich and junior Dan Hosko as they knocked off Benedictine 2-1 in the first round of the NAC Tournament Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee at Time Warner Cable Stadium. MSOE (10-8) will face Aurora Tuesday afternoon on the road in the semifinals.
Westrich logged the first goal of the game at the 52:42 mark on a pass from sophomore Jordan Werner. Hosko added to the Raiders' lead a few minutes later when he scored on a penalty kick. The Eagles pulled within one at 65:48 mark of the game on a goal from Giancarlo Chavez. After that, MSOE held on for the tournament victory. Junior goalkeeper Jon Cerny made four saves in the win. The Raiders out shot Benedictine 24-8.
