Four-goal second period leads MSOE hockey to victory against Northland

The Raiders scored four times in the second period against Northland Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center. MSOE went on to the win the MCHA game 5-1. The scoring was started by freshman Michael Schenfeld at the 12:37 mark of the first period when he logged a power play goal assisted by freshman Michael Thompson and sophomore Jordan Keizer.
 
The second period onslaught started with a goal from junior Todd Krupa just about half way through the period. Krupa's sixth goal of the year was assisted by senior Michael Soik and freshman Mike Pao. A little over two minutes later, sophomore Carl Lindblad ripped a shot past Northland goaltender Daniel McIntosh to make it 3-0 Raiders. Lindblad's tally was set up by sophomore captain Bradley Tierney and freshman Steven Shaffroth who scored less than one minute later. Shaffroth's goal was assisted by sophomore Nathan Brunk.
 
MSOE finished their scoring in the second period with a goal by Tierney a little over a minute later. That goal was assisted by Lindblad and Keizer. Raiders junior goaltender Chris Keller made 19 saves to get the win. 

The Raiders (4-0-0, 4-0-0 MCHA) will host Marian Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Kern Center. The pucks drops at 7:05 p.m.
