MSOE hockey nationally ranked for sixth consecutive week

MSOE hockey now stands at No. 11 in the United States Collegiate Hockey Online (USCHO.com) Division III Poll, keeping them in the national spotlight for the sixth straight week. Despite the loss to 10th ranked Hamline, the Raiders are still considered one of the teams to beat in the Midwest. MSOE will host Lake Forest this Friday at 7:05 p.m. and then travel to Lake Forest for a Saturday night game scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
Sophomore forward Jordan Keizer leads the country in goals per game as he is averaging 1.27 per game with 14 goals for the year. Keizer is also tied for first in short-handed goals with two. Junior goaltender Connor Toomey is fourth in the nation with a 1.60 goals against average and eighth with a 93.4% save percentage.
MSOE leads the country in penalty kill situations as they have given up just three power play goal in 52 opportunities (94.2%). The Raiders are fourth in the country in scoring margin (2.36) and scoring defense (1.73). MSOE has the second best winning percentage of any Midwest team (.818) and is fifth nationally in that category.
