11th ranked MSOE hockey dominates Lake Forest

The No. 11 Raiders scored three times in the first period and four times in the second en route to a 7-2 victory against Lake Forest Friday night at the Kern Center. Sophomore forward Bradley Tierney had two goals in the second period including a short-handed goal.
Freshman defenseman Michael Schenfeld started the scoring in the first period with a power play goal. Less than 30 seconds later, freshman forward Austin Grosvenor netted his first goal as a Raider. Then less than a minute after that goal, sophomore forward Sean McGaughy put MSOE up 3-0 with his first goal of the season.
After Tierney scored twice in the second period, sophomore forward Sean-Michael Tisdall scored his first on the year as the Raiders went up by the score of 6-0. Senior forward Michael Soik then finished the MSOE scoring with a goal at the 19:14 mark of the second period.
Junior goaltender Connor Toomey made 18 saves for the Raiders in the win. Sophomore forward Jordan Kezier had three assists while freshman forward Steven Shaffroth logged two helpers. MSOE outshot the Foresters 30-24 on the night.
The Raiders (10-2, 7-0 MCHA) head down south to face Lake Forest on the road at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.
