MSOE softball sweeps Maranatha

The Raiders swept Maranatha Baptist Friday in Milwaukee at the MSOE Athletic Field. In the first game, junior pitcher Jessica Iversen pitched a complete game and struck out nine while allowing two earned runs in the 13-2 victory. Sophomore catcher Lianna Campos went 3-4 with two RBI. Iversen and sophomores Rebecca Gardner and Samantha Herold each had two RBI as well. Junior Elise Pinkerton had three runs while Gardner had two hits. MSOE had ten runs in the first inning.
In the second game, the Raiders edged the Crusaders 13-11. Sophomore Julie Windish was 4-5 with four RBI. Freshman Kalyn Harvat went 3-5 with three runs while Gardner was 3-3 with two runs. Iversen came in relief to pick up the win. She went four innings and allowed one earned run and was 2-2 with two RBI. Iversen singled in the game-winning run in the sixth inning. Sophomore Brittany Leis was 3-4 with three RBI and two runs.
MSOE (2-8, 2-2 NAC) hosts Concordia-Wisconsin Saturday at noon in Milwaukee.
