No. 10 Carthage knocks off No. 14 MSOE men's volleyball

The No. 14 Raiders played their first Midwest-III Volleyball Conference match of 2011 Tuesday night at the Kern Center and fell to No. 10 Carthage in three games (25-15, 25-15, 25-17). Junior Max Martin led MSOE with eight kills and also had four digs and three blocks. Freshman setter Josh Avery recorded 21 assists in the defeat.
Sophomore libero John Cote paced MSOE with nine digs while sophomore Jack Geary led the Raiders with five blocks. Senior Chris Reininger had a hitting percentage of .500 with four kills. MSOE (1-7, 0-1 M3VC) hits the road this weekend to take part in the M3VC Crossover in Cincinnati. The Raiders will play Mount St. Joseph Friday and then face Thiel and Fontbonne Saturday.
