MILWAUKEE - In less than a week, MSOE has seen three coaches garner Coach of the Year awards for their respective conferences. Track and field coach Larry Gardner, wrestling coach Kevin Morin and hockey coach Mark Ostapina were recently honored for the success of their teams.
Gardner was recognized as this year's Northern Athletic Conference men's indoor track and field Coach of the Year as the program won the NAC title. This is their first indoor title since 2008. Gardner, who has coached the cross country and track and field programs since 2003, has four Coach of the Year honors to his name.
Morin was tabbed the Northern Wrestling Association's Coach of the Year for 2010-2011. Morin is no stranger to this honor as he received the award five times when MSOE was a member of the Lake Michigan Conference. Morin led the Raiders to a program best 9-2 dual record this season including first ever defeats over three Wisconsin state schools. Morin led the Raiders to a second place finish at the Northern Wrestling Association conference tournament.

Ostapina was selected as this year's Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Coach of the Year. He led the Raiders to a 21-6-1 overall record. For Ostapina, this is his fourth honor as MCHA Coach of the Year.
