Diederich makes push for NCAA Outdoor Championships

Senior Kevin Diederich finished first in the decathlon Wednesday at the Gregory Invitational Multi-Event hosted by North Central in Naperville, Ill. The score of 6424 for Diederich is an NCAA provisional mark and places him seventh for the decathlon for all of Division III this season. The top 16 athletes for each event qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships next week.
Diederich's top event was the 110-meter hurdles where he logged 816 points for a time of 15.28 seconds. In the long jump, he recorded 774 points after jumping 6.83 meters. In the 100-meter dash, he scored 771 points for running the event in 11.41 seconds.
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 26-28 at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
