Toomey, Lauder garner MCHA weekly honors

Junior goaltender Connor Toomey was named MCHA Defensive Player of the Week for a league-high fifth time in 2010-11. Also, forward Ben Lauder was selected as MCHA Freshman of the Week. Toomey and Lauder helped the Raiders sweep Lawrence during the past weekend. MSOE is now ranked no. 10 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll. The Raiders are tied at the top of the MCHA with Adrian at 12-1-1 in conference action.
Toomey recorded his Division III-leading third shutout of the season Friday night against Lawrence. He had a save percentage of .962 for the weekend (51 saves) and a goals against average of 1.00. Lauder scored a power play goal and had two assists against the Vikings and was +2 in the two victories. Both of Lauder's assists came on the game-winning goals.
MSOE will face Concordia-Wisconsin Friday night at the Kern Center and Saturday in Mequon, Wis.
