Toomey breaks MSOE career victory mark in 3-2 victory over Finlandia

Senior goaltender Connor Toomey recorded his 46th career victory at MSOE to break the school record for wins Saturday afternoon as No. 14 MSOE defeated Finlandia 3-2 at the Kern Center in Milwaukee. The mark was held by former Raider netminder Matt Burzon. Three different MSOE players scored in the victory.

Junior Mike Pao scored his fourth goal of the season at the 6:04 mark of the first period from senior Todd Krupa and sophomore West Bauman. No scoring took place in the second period. The Lions tied the game less than two minutes into the third period with a tally from Griffen Hodges. The Raiders answered back with a goal from freshman Cole Gibson assisted by freshmen Josh Keizer and Logan Bauman to lead 2-1.

Finlandia again tied the score, this time less than 30 seconds later when Collin Saint-Onge scored his first goal of the season. The game-winning goal was recorded by junior Bradley Tierney at the 10:05 mark of the third period. Tierney's goal was assisted by sophomore Kevin Medina and junior Carl Lindblad.

Toomey made 14 saves for MSOE. The Raiders (4-0, 4-0 MCHA) face Adrian next weekend (Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.) for two games at the Kern Center.
