The MSOE track & field teams competed at UW-Stevens Point this past weekend as they continue their indoor season. Sophomore Jordan Werner won the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.46 seconds. That time was good enough to post an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Werner placed third in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 22.53 seconds. Both of those times set new school records. As a team, the Raiders men's team placed sixth out of 12 teams at the event.
Junior Kevin Diederich finished third in the pentathlon with 3440 points which also was good enough to be an NCAA provisional mark. Diederich won the 55-meter hurdles event in the pentathlon at 7.81 seconds. He was second in the shot put (12.52 meters), third in the long jump (6.35 meters) and tied for sixth in the high jump (1.82 meters). MSOE had a time of 3:28.20 in the 4X400-meter relay to finish seventh and set a new school record with that mark.
In the weight throw, senior Michael Jasperson came in third at 16.56 meters and sophomore Patrick DuBois placed seventh with a distance of 13.80 meters. Jasperson's mark is a new school. Freshman Matt Waech tied for seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 4.17 meters which set an MSOE record. Junior Arthur Weborg was also seventh in the long jump at 6.36 meters. In the shot put, senior Brent Verhyen was sixth (13.37 meters) and DuBois placed ninth (12.58 meters). On the women's side, Katelyn Herrmann finished tenth in the 3000-meter run at 11:54.58.
