No. 10 MSOE hockey beats Concordia-Wisconsin to retain Lake Michigan Cup

Behind two goals from freshman forward West Bauman, the No. 10 Raiders knocked off Concordia-Wisconsin 5-1 Friday night at the Kern Center. The victory secured the Lake Michigan Cup once again for MSOE which goes to winner of the season series between the Raiders and the Falcons. Junior goaltender Connor Toomey tied Matt Burzon's MSOE single season record with his 14th victory on the year.
The game was tied until late in the first period when sophomore forward Mike Pao scored a power play goal. Just 15 seconds after Concordia-Wisconsin tied the game at 1, freshman defenseman Michael Thompson put MSOE up 2-1 at the 16:55 mark of the second period.
The Raiders pulled away in the third period with the first two goals of the season from Bauman and sophomore forward Jordan Keizer scored his 18th goal of the year. Keizer entered the weekend as the leading goal scorer in all of Division III.
MSOE (16-3-1, 13-1-1 MCHA) and the Falcons finish their weekend series Saturday in Mequon, Wis. at 7:30 p.m.
