MSOE wrestling's Narveson ousted at the NCAA Division III National Championships

MSOE wrestling's junior Jake Narveson took part in the NCAA Division III National Championships Friday in La Crosse, Wis. Narveson was pinned by Nick Garber of Waynesburg in the first round at the 3:28 mark of the match in the 141-pound class. He then lost to Chris LeClere of Coe in the consolation portion of the bracket by the score of 12-6.
Narveson (38-12) finished fourth at 141 pounds at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Wrestling Regional and earned an at-large bid to the Division III Championships. The last Raider wrestler to compete at nationals before Narveson was senior Virgil Pope in 2009. Narveson helped MSOE to a second place finish at the Northern Wrestling Association conference tournament. The Raiders also went 9-2 during duals this season.
