Raiders place second at NAC Automatic Qualifier
On Monday, April 23, the Raiders placed second at the Northern Athletics Qualifier held at the Stonebridge Country Club, in Aurora, Ill. Edgewood won the title and will represent the NAC at the NCAA Championships. Senior Dane Zachman and freshman Colin Winstorfer garnered All-NAC honors. The 2012-2013 team will return everyone except All-NAC player Zachman.

MSOE men’s golf returns to NCAA Championship
The Raiders competed in the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship in Greensboro, N.C. for the second time in three years this past spring. The Raiders finished 25th at the tournament. They are the first MSOE athletic team to make a second appearance in an NCAA tournament. The Raiders shot a combined 19-over par 307 on the final day of the event after carding a 305 in their first round. Junior Dane Zachman and senior Peter Eich both shot a one-over 73 in the second round. Zachman finished the event in a tie for 34th while Eich finished tied for 47th.
MSOE trailed conference foe Edgewood by ten strokes entering the two-day Northern Athletics Conference Spring Automatic Qualifier Meet in April. Behind a 36-hole team score of 629, MSOE defeated Edgewood by eight strokes in the four-day combined event to earn a spot in the NCAA Championship. Zachman was the medalist of the spring qualifier portion of the event with a 36-hole score of 144, shooting an even par to pace the field.
All four point-getters for MSOE finished the event tied for tenth place or higher in the standings. Eich shot 159 for a fourth place tie while seniors Jason Arnes and Ben Turk shot a 36-hole 163 tying for tenth place overall among the 47-golfer field.
