Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
Taking something simple and making it complicated is a teenager's dream come true ... and that's just what this competition does. It challenges students to build a contraption that does something simple (peel an apple, sharpening a pencil, putting toothpaste on a toothbrush) in as many steps as possible.
Physics, chemistry, engineering and ingenuity are all put to the test.
The Challenge:
Dispense an appropriate amount of hand sanitizer into a hand.
Competition Site:
Discovery World
500 N Harbor Dr
Milwaukee, WI 53202-5601
Last Year's Challenge:
Replace an incandescent light bulb with a more energy efficient light emitting design.
The contest is now hosted by the new Milwaukee Colleges of Engineering Partnership (Milwaukee School of Engineering, UWM College of Engineering & Applied Science, and Marquette University College of Engineering, Milwaukee Area Technical Collegeand Waukesha County Technical College).
