We caught up with Great Books Dinner and Discussion regulars Bill and Judy Kay from Mequon, Wis., to find out what they like about the Great Books series and why they keep coming back for more.
Why do you come to the Great Books discussions?
We like the discipline and schedule given to us because it keeps us on track with learning. We look forward to the new selection of books, which introduces us to new authors and topics, some that we would never otherwise read. Also, we enjoy the good people, conversation, and food and beverages. It makes for an easy, enjoyable night out.
What do you do in your spare time?
We are both retired but many interests keep us busy. We attend many local theatre performances, Present Music group and the opera. We travel extensively. Favorite vacations include a warm weather cruise in winter and biking along the rivers and canals in Europe. We especially enjoyed biking in South Africa and Spain. Bill volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Judy is active with Ozaukee Master Gardeners. Plus, we take care of our grandchildren a few days a week—they keep us young!
