Working professional finds success at MSOE
Major: Master's in Engineering Management
Class: 2008
Theresa Rosik's '08 career is impressive. While working for a large paper mill in the Green Bay, Wis. area she was responsible for orchestrating personnel and equipment for building projects in 17 locations within the U.S. and abroad. After seven years she left her position to focus on giving back to the community and using her servant leadership skills to head up many large scale volunteer projects in the Green Bay area.
Ready for the next step, Rosik said, "I decided to pursue a master's degree because it would serve as a catalyst to reenter the workforce." Rosik attended courses at MSOE's Fox Valley Outreach campus in Neenah, Wis, because "MSOE's Master of Science in Engineering Management program was the only one that offered a specialty in project management. This program mirrored my background in construction and manufacturing," said Rosik.
MSOE's Fox Valley Outreach is a link for adults to other business and technical professionals and employers seeking the latest in engineering and management theory. "Classes are held by an excellent mix of academic-based and ‘real world' professors. Both styles challenged me to excel in strategic management and leadership areas," said Rosik.
Rosik offers this advice to other professionals contemplating a graduate education, "Savor the adventure/opportunity of acquiring a graduate degree. MSOE provides a platform where a wealth of knowledge is provided by other students and thought-provoking faculty. Classes and teamwork supply networking opportunities that provide you with a personal ‘Board of Directors' after the program is finished."
