ASHRAE Handbooks
- The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers is an international professional technical society of heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning engineers.
- ASHRAE sponsors numerous research programs in cooperation with universities, research laboratories, and government agencies on subjects such as human and animal environmental studies, effects of air-conditioning, quality of inside air, heat transfer, flow, and cooling processes. Research and general technical programs are conducted through 90 technical committees organized in 10 sections. Conducts professional development seminars. ASHRAE also produces standards.
- ASHRAE additionally publishes four important handbooks including: ASHRAE Fundamentals, ASHRAE HVAC Applications, ASHRAE HVAC Systems and Equipment, and ASHRAE Refrigeration.
- The ASHRAE Handbooks are essential resources in Architectural Engineering design work, particularly in the area of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning. For example, the ASHRAE HVAC Applications book features a chapter devoted to "Educational Facilities," including general, energy, and design considerations.
