ScienceDirect contains the full-text of articles from nearly 2500 journals in the subjects of physical sciences and engineering, life sciences, health sciences, social sciences and humanities. Nearly 10 millions articles are included in this database.
Although most of the articles are available in full text, MSOE's subscription to this ScienceDirect doesn't include access to everything. These icons tell you whether or not an item is included in the subscription:

PubMed (MEDLINE)
PubMed is produced by the National Library of Medicine and contains more than 16 million bibliographic citations and abstracts in the areas of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, healthcare systems, and preclinical sciences. Citations cover articles and other literature published since the mid-1960s. This database is openly available on the Internet.
The National Library of Medicine uses its own classification system for subject headings called MeSH. MeSH terminology provides a consistent way to retrieve information that may use different terminology for the same concepts. As a general rule of thumb, to search this database effectively, you should use the advanced search features and MeSH terminology. There is a well produced tutorial on searching PubMed entitled PubMed Tutorial.
This is an index-only database only, no full-text; there are links to full text but generally there is a charge for this service. To find the full text of articles, look to see if MSOE subscribes to the journal in print or electronically, or send the citations to interlibraryloan@msoe.edu for no-charge access.
EI Compendex
EI Compendex produced by Engineering Information, is the world's best engineering database. It features coverage of the Biomedical Engineering literature. Many of the best technical journals are indexed here.

IEEE Xplore
IEEE Xplore is produced by the the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). IEEE is the premier professional association for engineers and scientists in electrical engineering, electronics, and allied fields. The British organization, Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) holdings are also available.
This database provides web-based, full-text access to IEEE Society-sponsored journals, magazines, letters, transactions and standards.
