Welcome Week Parking Information

For Welcome Week and Residence Hall Move-In
Please take a few moments to read this important information on parking for the start of this academic year.

Move-in Day Parking
The MSOE Campus Shuttle will be operating on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to and from the student parking structure only. Once freshmen arrive and check-in with Housing at RWJ they will get a sheet with a map that shows them where the student parking structure is located and how to get there from residence halls (RWJ, Regents or MLH). You can request shuttle service by calling (414) 277-7464 to have the shuttle pick you up at the Student Parking Structure.

After you have completed your move-in of your personal items you must move your vehicle to the student parking structure. In order to accommodate all the students moving in, Housing staff will remind you that you have 30 minutes to park on our campus lot for unloading purposes and then you must move your vehicle to the parking structure.

If parents are staying overnight for the Welcome Weekend, they also can park in the student parking structure without a permit. No parking is allowed on the campus Saturday and Sunday due to move-in (we need as many spots available for move-in as possible).

Parking Permits and Student Parking Structure
Students and their parents do not need a parking permit or permission to park in the student parking structure until the permits are sold on Sept. 6 and 7. After Sept. 7 students must have an MSOE parking permit to park in the structure.

You must apply for a student parking permit by 4 p.m. on Sept. 5 either online or in person at the MLH Public Safety Office. Freshman and Transfer Student Parking During Welcome Week
For the entire Welcome Week, starting Monday, Aug. 29 through Friday, Sept. 2, any freshman / transfer commuter student attending the sessions have the following parking options:

  • Park in the State Street “A” Lot (located on the corner of State and Jackson – directly behind the Schroeder Library)
  • Use street parking/meters (please pay close attention to time restrictions…there will be breaks throughout the day to reload meters)
  • Park in the Student Parking Structure (shuttle will not be operating, so you will need to walk back to campus-approximately 8 blocks)
  • Student parking structure: 215 W. Pleasant Street (map)
University Guests (non-student or parent)
Any guests of the University (non-MSOE student vehicles/parent vehicles) should register their vehicle for parking permission with MSOE Public Safety at (414) 277-7169. You will be instructed to park in the State Street “A” lot, due to the need to keep the Milwaukee St. “B” lot open for returning student move-ins and faculty In-Service parking which occurs Wednesday through Friday of Welcome Week.
