New Student Probation Program

This is a one-year program designed to assist selected first-year and transfer students, who have had previous academic difficulties, make a successful transition to MSOE. By limiting commitments and class loads, and providing academic support and counseling throughout their first year at MSOE, the New Student Probation program enables students to build a solid academic foundation.

New Student Probation program requirements include:

  • Attendance at New Student Probation orientation
  • Course load limits (four courses or 16 credits for full-time students; two courses or seven credits for part-time students)
  • Use of LRC academic support services on a weekly basis (min. 1 hour)
  • Attendance at regularly scheduled conferences with LRC staff to monitor academic progress
  • Successful completion of OR101, "Strategies for Academic Success", during the Winter quarter.

New Student Probation program benefits:
