Nearly 400 graduates received degrees this spring from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). The ceremony – one of the university’s largest in its history -- was held Saturday, May 24 at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee.
The commencement falls during MSOE’s the 100th anniversary and keynote speakers were the heads of Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley and Harley-Davidson, two companies that also are celebrating their centennials.
The class respondent was Christa Langer (of Ellsworth, Wis.), who graduated with high honors with a B.S. in Architectural Engineering.
Several high school teachers received VIP/Excellence in Teaching
awards for their positive influence on a graduating MSOE student:
*
Jim Schmitt, a teacher at Eau Claire (Wis.) North High School, was
nominated by his former student, Ryan Fedie (of Eau Claire), who
received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
*Courtney O'Berry, a
teacher at Grayslake (Ill.) Community High School, was nominated by
Adam Christensen (of Grayslake), who received a B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering.
