MSOE was saddened to learn of the death of Dr. I. Andrew (“Tiny”) Rader, a long-time MSOE supporter, Regent Emeritus and the man for whom MSOE’s Rader School of Business is named.

Rader School of Business buildingAs chairman of The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, Dr. Rader became affiliated with MSOE in 1971 when he became a Corporation member. He served as MSOE Regent from 1975 to 1984 and chaired several committees. He received an honorary doctorate from MSOE in 1984.

Dr. Rader helped deepen the relationship between MSOE and the Bradley name, a connection that went back to 1911 when the Allen-Bradley Co. participated in MSOE’s innovative cooperative engineering education program, employing students part-time while they attended MSOE. Fred F. Loock, president of the Allen-Bradley Co., was a long-time chairman of MSOE's Board of Regents, and the university’s main engineering and science buildings are named the Allen-Bradley Hall of Science and the Fred F. Loock Engineering Center. The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation Inc. awarded a $6-million grant to MSOE for scholarships, one of its largest to an educational institution.
