Expanded opportunities for technical leadership
An MET degree opens the door to many technical roles in industry. Those with MET degrees are hands-on people. They work with manufacturing and machinery - and people - and have the skills to manage them all. They also have the skills to devise ways to adapt machinery, such as redevelop a supply line for a new product.

Transfer Program
MSOE's MET program is a transfer program for those with associate degrees in mechanical design and related fields. It is also open to those with degrees in other fields and those with previously earned college credits.
You can earn this degree through evening courses, which makes it convenient for the working professional. Typically, students enroll in two classes a quarter. The classes shown on the curriculum track are paired so the required courses can be taken on the same night of the week.
MSOE has transfer agreements with many of Wisconsin's two-year technical colleges.
Meaningful Curriculum
The curriculum introduces technical courses at an early stage. Mathematics
and science courses are integrated into the curriculum as they are applied to
the technical courses. General studies courses are spread throughout the
curriculum. With this arrangement of courses, part-time students experience a
continuous blend of technical and support classes throughout the program. Two
technical electives and one free elective allow students to focus on an area of
interest; however, the program is designed to produce well-rounded graduates
who are competent in all areas of mechanical engineering technology.
