Job Description:
This position offers an exceptional opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience with advanced research in fluid power systems. Successful candidates will contribute to high-impact projects and develop expertise in hydraulics, tribology, AI, and more. This role is ideal for those pursuing or planning to pursue an MS in Engineering or MS in Machine Learning at MSOE.
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Participate in safety training and comply with safety standards.
- Operate hydraulic test stands and use laboratory equipment.
- Collect and analyze data for research projects.
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
- Document and communicate test results.
- Contribute to ongoing research in hydraulics, tribology, CFD, and molecular dynamics.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an MS in Engineering or MS in Machine Learning program at MSOE.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB.
- A keen interest in hydraulics, tribology, CFD, AI, or molecular dynamics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
Must be in good academic standing as a graduate student at MSOE. Must be available to work 20 hours/week during the Academic Year.
