Computer Competition

  • Registration Fee: $85.00 per team; Teams registered at least 3 weeks before the competition are guaranteed t-shirts
  • Team registration may ONLY be done by your teacher / team coach using the online shopping cart.
  • Composition of team: four (4) students. 
  • Teams are encouraged to bring their own laptops. Each team of four students will use two laptops.
  • Maximum number of teams the competition will host: 45 
  • Be sure to review the Computer Competition rules and instructions.

Each four-member computer team works together using two laptops to design programs to solve problems of varying levels of difficulty. Teams may use either Python, Java (Eclipse or BlueJ) or C++ (Microsoft Visual Studio .NET). Participants are encouraged to bring wired or USB mice.

7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Check-in (teacher and team captain only)
7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Optional Practice Session
8:30 – 8:45 a.m. Competition Orientation (teachers only)
8:45 – 11:15 a.m. Competition
11:15 – 11:30 a.m. Break (awards will be determined during this time)
11:30 – 12:00 p.m. Awards ceremony
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Optional campus tour (must sign up in advance)

  • Eight (8) students. Teams may be comprised of fewer than eight students, however, the team score is a total sum of points earned, not an average.
  • Maximum number of teams the competition will host: 30
  • Calculators Are Required. The TI-89, TI-92 and any devices with internet access are NOT ALLOWED.
