MSOE grads earn 99% graduate outcomes rate for the second year in a row
MSOE students gain hands-on experiences in and out of the classroom through real-world projects, internships and co-ops to prepare them to hit the ground running after graduation. These experiential learning experiences make them desirable candidates to employers. MSOE graduates are in high demand and the proof is in the statistics. The graduate outcomes rate for MSOE’s class of 2022-23 was 99% and their average starting salary was $76,647. This is the second year in a row with a 99% graduate outcomes rate. The university already boasts the highest average early and mid-career salaries of any college or university in Wisconsin (PayScale Inc. College Salary Report, 2023).
“Our students are incredibly driven and dedicated to achieving success in the classroom and beyond,” said Dr. John Walz, MSOE president. “This paired with industry-experienced faculty providing hands-on learning experiences set our students up for success. It’s what employers look for, which is proven by our outstanding graduate outcomes rate and starting salary.”
MSOE hosts career fairs in the fall and spring to bring employers on campus and introduce them to students. A total of 405 employers attended the Fall Career Fair in September 2023 and more than 200 employers are coming to the Kern Center on Feb. 15 for the Spring Career Fair.
“The Career Connections Center helps students with their resumes, career fair prep, Handshake and LinkedIn profiles, and networking and interview skills, so they are prepared to interact with employers at career fairs and job interviews. Our goal is that the receive as many interview invitation as possible” said Julie Way, director of the Career Connections Center. “Then we help them navigate their job offers and salary negotiations to ensure they are earning a salary that matches industry standard.”
Students, alumni and employers are encouraged to visit MSOE’s Career Connections Center and use Handshake to search and post internship and full-time opportunities for all majors.
To determine the graduate outcomes rate and average starting salary, MSOE’s Career Connections Center surveys students. MSOE’s knowledge rate for this survey was 92.22%. Final numbers were compiled six months after the May 2023 graduation in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers guidelines.
