MSOE was ranked among the top 150 master’s universities in the nation, and the 12th “Best Bang for the Buck Midwest College” in the 2017 Washington Monthly College Guide and Rankings.

According to Washington Monthly, the Best Bang for the Buck Colleges listing is their “Exclusive list of schools that help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices. Since 2012, we’ve ranked America’s four-year colleges and universities based on their ‘bang for the buck’—that is, the extent to which they charge students who aren’t rich a reasonable price for quality education that will advance them in their careers.”

In compiling this ranking, Washington Monthly rates colleges and universities on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility, Research and Service.
