Grohmann Tower

Grohmann Tower is MSOE’s apartment-style housing. Grohmann Tower comprises 11 residential floors, featuring studios and 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. Grohmann Tower apartments are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- All apartments include a full kitchen and bathroom.
- All apartments come furnished (e.g., bed, dresser, desk, chair). Utilities (i.e., heat, air conditioning, electricity, water) are included and resident controlled.
- Semester, Academic Year, and Summer contracts are available.
- Floors 4-10 have access to a community laundry room, while floors 11-14 include an in-unit washer and dryer.
- Each floor (GT 4-10) has at least one Resident Assistant who leads and plans activities, builds community on the floor, and supports a safe and welcoming living environment.
- Apartments include native wireless routers; personal routers are prohibited. Students also have access to Wi-Fi across campus.
The living-learning communities and 4th-floor common space encourage academic success and give students with similar academic, social, and personal interests the opportunity to live together, collaborate, and share experiences.
- The Nursing Living-Learning Community is designed to build a stronger community of nursing students who feel academically prepared, supported, and connected, increasing the sense of belonging and retention of nursing students on campus.
Roommates and Occupancy
- Studio and 1-bedroom apartments on floors 4 through 10 have a maximum of 3 occupants.
- 2-bedroom apartments on floors 6, 8, and 10 have a maximum of 4 occupants.
- Residents are responsible only for their share of the rent, regardless of how many are assigned.
- Multiple groups are eligible to live in Grohmann Tower, floors 11-14, for the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Juniors, seniors, graduate students, or married students
- Faculty and staff may request to live in Grohmann Tower if space is available.
- 1-bedroom apartments on floors 11 through 14 have a maximum of 3 occupants.
- 2-bedroom apartments on floors 11 through 14 have a maximum of 5 occupants.
- Residents are responsible only for their share of the rent, regardless of how many are assigned.
- The 2024-2025 per bed rate for GT 11-14 is $3,960 per semester.
